design of a sustainable multifunctional building on the Island of Coloane
Macau, 2013The theme of the 2013 edition is the recover of the former Shipyards in Coloane Village, located in the southern part of Macau. The goal is to design a place where culture and science can be exhibited, promoted
and evolved, attracting there people of all ages close to Coloane's romantic village and suggesting to people living in Macau an original place to go, discover culture and experience it.
The new complex and multifunctional building should create a "crowded" place that takes in consideration and respects also the people and the habits of the fishermen village. Strong emphasis should be given to the cultural component, not forgetting to consider and provide an important connection with the local community.
